In 2019,the Municipality of East Hants awarded Ivan’s the contract to install the audio system in the new $19 million East Hants Aquatic Centre in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia. The recreational facility includes a six-lane, 25-metre pool, leisure pool, an indoor and outdoor splashpad, and a 15-person hot tub.
Working with partner general contractor, Bird Construction, over the course of several months, Ivan’s installed JBL speakers in both the pool and change room area,all with waterproof speaker grills.
The system was driven by three Crown amplifiers, an AM/FM tuner with remote control,and is backed up with a UPS-S2200R UPS backup power system. The system is controlled with BSS keypads,installed at the lifeguard station, the pool deck, and the front desk.
To aid with in-pool fitness classes, Ivan’s provided a Shure wireless bodypack transmitter, fitted with a waterproof headset that could be used while in the water.
