The Challenge
In 2016, IKEA announced they would be returning to Halifax with a new state-of-the-art store in Dartmouth Crossing. The new building would be approximately328,000 sq ft in size and would need to be built to standards that made it the most sustainable IKEA store in Canada. As such, it presented multiple challenges that had to be overcome or engineered on the fly.
Ivan’s worked in partnership with Stanley Security and Easco Electric to install the audio-visual systems. One of the biggest hurdles to overcome was that more than 500 pendant speakers were to be installed but they could not be attached, nor could any of the cabling, directly to the under side of the roof.
